2023 Best of Beauty Gift Guide

This 2023 Best of Beauty Gift Guide goes out to all my beauty lovers! Beauty and skincare items are two of my favorite things to receive. Beauty products are often associated with self-care and pampering. Gifting someone luxurious skincare items or high-quality makeup promotes overall well-being and relaxation. A little extra relaxation is something everyone could use around the holidays. Beauty products are great to give as gifts because they come in various price points, making them accessible for various budgets, from affordable yet charming options to more extravagant choices.

The Best Beauty Gifts

Giorgio Armani Foundation

One of Giorgio Armani’s popular foundation lines is the “Luminous Silk Foundation.” It is also my personal favorite! It’s well-known for its lightweight feel, providing a radiant and natural finish. It evens out your skin tone without appearing thick or cakey. Foundation can be tricky to give as a gift, so if you don’t have a way to find their shade, I would stick to other options!

YSL Rouge Shine Lipstick

This lipstick balm has the most luxurious feel and vibrant color payoff. It is hydrating and not heavy on the lips. I haven’t been able to stop wearing it since I discovered it! It comes in a wide range of shades.

Nikki Rose Brush Set

One of the biggest game changers in makeup is high-quality makeup brushes. These brushes help your makeup to blend seamlessly without losing color. This brush set is perfect for those experienced in the makeup industry and those who only enjoy the basics!

Chanel Les Beiges Water-Fresh Tint

This product has a lightweight gel texture filled with ultra-pure ingredients for a bare-skin effect with eight hours of hydration and comfort. I have been mixing it with my foundation, and it is incredible!

Guerlain Glow Bronzer

I have been reaching for this bronzer lately and love it! It gives a beautiful and natural-looking glow. It has incredible buildable coverage if you prefer a more intense bronzer look. I also noticed that it has excellent staying power, lasting me from the morning until I go to take my makeup off at night!

PIXI On The Go Blush

Over the years, I have tried many blushes, but never one like this! It has the best applicator and I love the color payoff. The consistency of the product is buttery-smooth and lays beautifully on the skin. Giving your cheeks a cute pinkish glow!

9 Skincare Trends That Will Change Your 2021 Routine.

9 Skincare Trends That Will Change Your 2021 Routine. 2048 2560 Tammy Caciola

2021 SKINCARE AND BEAUTY TRENDS

With a new year comes new skincare and beauty trends! Since many of us have been staying in and soaking up our home sweet homes, it only makes sense that we’ll be seeing lots of simple and clean beauty trends for 2021. Skincare can be a bit tricky nowadays thanks to the masks we’ve been wearing, so it’s more important than ever to take care of what’s underneath! Keep scrolling for 9 of my favorite 2021 skincare and beauty trends.

2021 Skincare Trends

1. Clean and Transparent Beauty

Using clean and transparent beauty products means it’s safer and non-toxic, making them the perfect option for any woman. Sustainable formulas allow skin textures to be truly visible. This more natural look is a big beauty trend for 2021!

I had the please of meeting Indie Lee before COVID hit. She developed her clean skincare line after developing a brain tumor. I highly recommend everything in the line! The body salt scrub is a must-have (it doesn’t make the shower floor greasy), and stem cell serum is one of my favorites!

Elemis Skincare is my latest discovery. I’ve been using the Pro-Collagen Cleansing Balm and loving the results. Removes all traces of make-up while leaving your skin soft and plump. You can also use it as a mask! I put it on before I take a bath. For my daily moisturizer, I’ve been using this 3 in one anti-wrinkle marine cream. I love that it has SPF 30 and smells so fresh and clean! Other Elemis products I’ve been using regularly are Dynamic Resurfacing Facial Pads and Superfood face oil. Use Code TC20 for 20% off your cart until 2/28

Other clean skincare lines I love:  Necessaire, and Tula (use code FASHIONEDLIFE 15% off cart)

2. Stay At Home Light Coverage

It’s another year of the natural skin that glows. There’s really no need for heavy coverage, even if you do venture out. I love products like Charlotte Tilbury Healthy Glow that will nourish your skin while giving you long-lasting light coverage. Other Favorites are this Laura Mercier tinted foundation with SPF and NARS.

3. Maskne

I’m sure we’ve probably all experienced it by now – the acne that comes along with wearing a mask for long periods of time. The pores on your face are completely trapped when wearing a face covering, so oils, grease, and makeup are more likely to build up. Even when you breathe or talk, your mask tends to trap lots of hot air. There are, fortunately, several effective products that target maskne. I’ve been using Pause Detox Serum and love it! PCA Skin Acne gel and First Aid beauty clay pads are also excellent choices.

4. Eye Makeup

Since the eyes are pretty much the only exposed part of your face when you go out nowadays, women are focusing more on their eye makeup. Eye trends are coming on strong with colorful cat eyes, groomed brows, and fun eyeliners!

5. Plant-Based Skincare

More than clean beauty, plant-based skincare gives you powerful ingredients like bakuchiol, a natural Retinal. Similar to the clean and transparent beauty product trend, the plant-based skincare fad is being studied more and more in hopes of a healthier skincare and beauty routine. Erno Laszlo’s cream is light, absorbs quickly, and smells fab. Sisley Paris is a splurge but worth it, and Ursa Major had very effective products!

6. Smart Beauty/Health devices

When stuck at home… at-home devices bring the spa to you, including at-home dermabrasion, steamers, and teeth whiting, to name a few.

Red Light therapy will turn back the clock. Effectively diminishing fine lines and plumping your skin. If I get in front of my red light device 3-4 x’s a week, my lips naturally plump, and fine lines like crows feet are diminished!

My Vejo blender helps you stay healthy from the inside out. From collagen blends to immunity support, they have a targeted blend for you. Use this link here and CODE HFL8Pack for a free 8 pack when you check out.

7. Blue Light Protection

Did you know that excessive screen time will age you? Thankfully, brands are starting to create products with blue light protection actually built-in. You will find more and more lotions and serums that have this feature. Some of my favorites are Avene, EltaMD, and SkinCeuticals.

8. Probiotic Skincare

I’ve used these probiotic cleansing pads for years. My skin feels like I just had an in-person facial after application! I highly recommend using skincare with built-in probiotics guaranteed to promote more youthful and rejuvenated skin.

9. Lip Balm

You might as well condition your lips under that mask! Moisturizing lip balm is more important now than ever, thanks to the beautiful masks we’ve been sporting this past year. My lips feel so good and soft after using Dr. Barbara Strum’s lip balm.

Beauty Products

A fresh new year is here if you can believe it! Along with it comes new resolutions to hopefully create better lives for ourselves. I’m actually not particularly big on resolutions, I believe in living the best life I can everyday. However, I do love the clean slate feeling a new year brings!

This is the perfect time of year to give your beauty products a makeover! Cosmetics expire like other perishable items. Taking the time to sort your items and ditch the old will make space for the new and keep your skin in beautiful shape!

Unused Products

Products you haven’t used in the past year is an easy place to start. We all have a statement lipstick we’ve bought for that one occasion but then didn’t wear it and will probably never will. Makeup pallets we didn’t quite get around to using. If you haven’t worn it by now your not going to.

You know what you like, so simplify your life and your vanity, and dump the rest you thought you might like.

Expired Dates

Makeup and creams can last far longer than the expire dates so take a close look at your sunscreens, beauty creams, and serums. Nothing is worse than a cream that makes your face break out because you kept it past the expiry date. The potency of sunscreens will drop considerably after 1 year. If you do not see an expiration date on an item when you buy it, write the day you bought it on the package with a sharpie then at the end of a year you can toss it.

Makeup Brushes & Sponges

Professional makeup artists clean their brushes after each use to prevent germs and keep their products pristine. I’m so guilty of using my makeup brushes and not cleaning them way past their prime! Either clean them with gentle brush cleaner now or use a gift card to buy new ones! Sponges should be thrown out after a couple of uses.

Mascara

You should be even more diligent with Products that are applied right next to your eyeball. Bacteria that builds up on the brush from being taken in and out can cause redness, itching and even conjunctivitis. Replace your mascara every 3-4 months.

Foundation & Concealer

Bacteria and germs love the water-based products! As result, foundation has a shelf life of 6-12 months after it’s been opened. Concealer and powder will be should, however, be good for around 2 years. These expired products can cause skin irritations and breakouts.

I’ve listed some of my favorite basics below to help you with your beauty refresh. You can also visit my Beauty Shop Page for more!

Thanks so much for reading!
