My Favorite Perfumes
I have always had a thing for beautiful fragrances. There is no better feeling than walking by someone or someplace that smells amazing. It is that lingering scent that makes you want to ask, “what perfume is that?” Smells have the ability to connect to memories. I love to save certain perfumes for date nights, events, or special occasions. That way, when I smell the scent again, it immediately reminds me of the experiences on which I wore it.
Over the years, I have compiled a few special perfumes that I find irresistible—everything from warm and spicy aromas to floral scents. Investing in good perfume has been one of my guilty pleasures for as long as I can remember. There is just something about an enchanting scent that can increase your confidence.
Things To Note When Shopping For Perfume:
- Familiarize yourself with fragrance families (floral, fresh, woody, and amber) to know which group you like the most. This will help when shopping online!
- Get to know how “notes” work. There are top notes (a scent that is evident as soon as you spritz your first spray), middle notes (a scent that unfolds 10 to 15 minutes after you’ve applied the perfume), and base notes (the heavy notes that are the base layer, allowing the scent to last longer on your skin.
Perfume 1. Tom Ford Soleil Blanc
Top: Pistachio, Bergamot, Cardamom, Pink Pepper
Middle: Tuberose, Ylang-Ylang, Jasmine
Base: Coconut, Amber, Tonka Bean, Benzoin
Tom Ford Soleil Blanc is an unexpected, sultry and addictive solar floral scent. It evokes remote private islands where summer lasts all year. This is the perfect light summer scent for day or night. This fragrance also comes in a body spray. I love tossing that into my tote bag for trips to the pool or beach. It’s also light and airy, so perfect for spraying on after you get a spray tan!
Perfume 2. Santal 33
Top: Violet accord, Cardamom
Middle: Iris, Ambrox
Base: Cedarwood, Leather, Sandalwood
A cult classic perfume. It’s rich, woody, and yet feminine all at once. I’ve never met a person that didn’t love this scent! I wear this fragrance year around, day or night. I have a small tube in my purse, car, and gym bag. I also found an at-home misting spray that you can add this fragrance to scent the home; yes, I bought that too! It’s that good.
Perfume 3. Jo Malone Dark Amber & Ginger Lily
Top: Ginger, Black Cardamom, Pink Pepper
Middle: Jasmine, Orchid, Water lily, Rose
Base: Leather, Sandalwood, Kyara incense, Patchouli, Black amber
There is just something special about a Jo Malone fragrance. I found this one and have been wearing it for about a year. I love the deep sweet scent for fall!
Perfume 4. Chanel 1957
Top: White Musk, Aldehydes, Bergamot, Pink Pepper, Coriander
Middle: White Musk, Orange Blossom, Jasmine
Base: White Musk, Orris, Cashmeran, Cedar, Honey, Vanilla
When Austin had a Chanel pop-up last year, they had a unique fragrance area. I had no idea Chanel had so many fragrances! I fell in love with this scent. It’s complex with the musk but sweet with the Vanilla.
The name 1957 celebrates Coco Chanel’s relationship with America – a country where the couturier made her fortune. 1957 was the year that Coco Chanel was awarded the Neiman Marcus Award for Distinguished Service in the Field of Fashion
Perfume 5. Maison Francis Kurkdijan Paris Grand Soir
Top: Spanish labdanum
Middle: Benzoin Siam
Base: Vanilla, Amber, Brazilian tonka bean
I’m actually not a Baccarat Rouge 540 fan. However, this scent I cannot get enough of this! I keep it in my kitchen and spray it on more than any other fragrance I own. It’s that incredible! I cannot wear this without someone asking what I am wearing.
Perfume 6. Byredo De Los Santos
Top: Sage, Mirabelle
Middle: Orris Root, Cistus Incanus
Base: Musk, Olibanum, Ambroxan
I recently for this scent and immediately knew I had to have it! This one is heavier than the others and perfect for date night!
xx Tammy
