KINDRA COUCH CONVERSATIONS

A couple of weeks ago, I had the privilege of hosting a small gathering with my girlfriends for a KINDRA “couch conversations” event, and it was so much fun. If you’ve never heard of Kindra before, it’s a company dedicated to changing how women view menopause through education, conversation, and support through estrogen-free supplements.

The very first couch conversation took place on one of the most legendary couches of the all-around powerhouse Gloria Steinem. During this meeting, Gloria was joined by journalist Gayle King, founder Catherine Balsam-Schwaber and ten inspiring women ready to ignite change and start the conversation. Couch conversations change how we view menopause by creating a space for us to listen to one another, and I am so happy to be a part of this life-changing movement.

I chose to host my own event at my best girlfriend’s house. We all felt comfortable opening up to each other and had the best time in the comfort of her beautiful home. I ordered a colorful salad for us, and Dry Wines was kind enough to send up plenty of natural, organic wine choices, so everyone was happy and light-hearted. The meat and cheese board we grazed was from LUX Boards and was a huge hit! Who doesn’t love a good charcuterie board?

Thr0ugh couch conversations, I’ve learned that so many women, myself included, have many questions on their menopause journey but do not know who to ask or where to turn for help. We need a kind of support, knowledge, and encouragement that can only be found in our collective words. Menopause should be openly talked about instead of hidden away as an awkward topic of discussion. Let’s say more TOGETHER.
