It is officially fall now, and one of my favorite things to shop for is outerwear! Coats can complete your fall outfit, and finding the right one just got easier with these three coat trends. Scroll down to see which one is your favorite!

Look 1: Oversized Blazer

The oversized blazer is a modern and fresh take on the timeless blazer! It can be styled with a black top and loose jeans, as I did above, or over a dress for a more sophisticated look. You can also throw your blazer over a minimal outfit and spice it up with a fun handbag. Houndstooth is a trending fabric this fall and looks so chic on a handbag! I linked my favorite houndstooth handbag down below.

 

Look 2: Tweed Jacket

Some may think of tweed as old-fashioned, but it is a timeless wardrobe piece that will fit right into any woman’s wardrobe. It looks great styled with slacks for the office or jeans and a tee for a more relaxed setting. Cropped tweed jackets are perfect if you want to accentuate your waist or grab a longer one to go over a classic black dress.

Look 3: Knit Blazer

Last but not least, the classic knit blazer. This coat is one that everyone should have in their closet. It can be dressed up or down and looks flawless either way. I find myself pairing the knit blazer with neutrals as I did above, but grabbing a blazer with a pop of color is the perfect way to elevate an outfit.

This season, I am investing in a few key pieces that are as versatile as they are chic. Working with pieces that can go seamlessly from your desk to dinner.

Thinner coats or “coatigans” as the name has been coined are the perfect transitional piece. They aren’t as bulky or warm as a traditional coat, but they can be layered nicely over so many different looks—everything from a knit dress to a tee and jeans. The plaid pattern above is the perfect elevated fall piece to have in your wardrobe.

Along with black heels, I love having a pair of brown heels in my closet. They are so stunning in the fall time. Brown is a neutral color that looks beautiful paired with other neutral, monochromatic, and earthy tones. Black shoes tend to make for a dressed-up look, while the soft look of brown heels gives a more relaxed feel. Try pairing your heels with dark wash jeans and a white sweater for a chic casual look.

Below are the best sellers of the month. There is a bit of everything from Amazon sweaters to perfect ballet slippers I love! Unsurprisingly, two of the best-sellers are the striped sweater and ballet flats. Two items that have so many different style combinations and are trending for this fall season! A faux leather jacket is perfect to have on hand when the days get chillier. The cami above is great to throw under a jacket or wear under a sweater when the days get chilly! The Evereve faux leather cropped pants are one of my go-to fall transitional pieces. I styled it above with an affordable Amazon sweater and a stunning white YSL bag.

The tan loafers are a beautiful fall color and go with almost every outfit. One of the best-selling outfits for this month went viral on Instagram! Everyone loved the Spanx Wide Leg Pants. They are comfy and pair well with blouses and sweaters, making them perfect for the workplace.

Fall is one of the best times for workwear. There are many different outfit options, and you are not tied down to only the clothing items that will keep you cool. You can also keep things simple with a capsule wardrobe. Capsule wardrobe pieces are one of my go-to’s because they provide endless outfit options with only a few pieces. These capsule items will help keep you comfy, chic, and looking your best! No need to wear itchy sweaters and boring slacks.

TROUSERS

Trousers are a workwear staple. The wide-leg trousers above are one of my favorite Amazon finds. I’m wearing a size small, with my 25″ waist. They look professional but have a nice and comfortable fit! Solid colors of trousers go with everything and are easy to transition to the weekend by changing the heels for sneakers. Above I have it paired with a neutral collared sweater and the perfect comfortable pumps.

Fall trend alert- tweed jackets! During a season when temperatures shift from morning to afternoon, it’s nice to have an outfit with layering options. This elevated tweed jacket will pair perfectly with pieces for the office. You can get double-duty use out of it by pairing it with destroyed denim and loafers for the weekend.

A blazer is one of the most professional-feeling pieces of clothing in your closet. You can easily dress up a pair of trousers and a tee for an effortless chic look. A blazer is a piece that you’ll consider a closet essential. I love to invest a bit more in this staple to use throughout the years.

There is no denying the confidence a pair of good booties can give you! These beautiful black booties can go with any workwear outfit. They have support and a low/medium heel height. In the picture above, I paired it with a black ribbed short sleeve sweater and denim—such a chic and effortless look for fall.

The sweater vest trend is back for fall, and I love how versatile it is! This vest is the best neutral color! It pairs nicely with almost anything. I like to mix the knit fabric with a satin midi and a plaid jacket over!

The workhorse of your wardrobe year around. The style options are endless for this white button-down! Everyday Tote

An excellent neutral tote bag is a year-round staple. This tote bag is a new line that EVEREVE is carrying. Mules

I cannot tell you how often I reach for mules in the fall. They are so easy to slip on and pull a look together. I love the croc embossing and neutral color with gold details. Perfect for warmer climates where you do not need a bootie.

I love a long trench coat and how it instantly gives a relaxed vibe to an outfit. Believe me, I have many! However, living in the South, I do not wear longer outer layers much. I do find myself reaching for cropped layers. This cropped jacket is perfect for pairing with everything from pants to dresses. The look above is a great date night option with the sweetheart neckline of the ribbed short sleeve sweater and clear heels that have been on repeat for several seasons!

Booties

Booties are one of my favorite pieces to buy every fall! These boots are incredibly comfortable and look gorgeous under denim! They pair so nicely with a wide range of outfits. I wear mine with dresses, skirts, jeans, and leggings. The styling options are endless.

Fall 2021……while many things are still TBD, we are all striving to find a sense of normalcy and joy. Subtle hints of positivity are found threading throughout the season’s styles as designers flood the runways with happy and bright colors. THE SWEATER VEST

The sweater vest is back with a bang this season, and I’m not mad about it! Perfect to layer under blazers or wear alone, this is one of the most fun trends this fall and fits almost every aesthetic in your wardrobe. Today’s style is cropped and colorful or oversized and layered. Neutral is always a good idea, too! Style it with anything from biker shorts to pleated skirts. The versatility of this staple piece will have you reaching for it again and again.

THE CROPPED BUTTON-UP CARDIGAN

Cropped button-up cardigans can be found in many different shapes and silhouettes, making this trendy piece your go-to layer. The easy fit can be dressed down over a graphic tee for a casual date night or dressed up with a cashmere set for a holiday. Whether you choose chunky and cozy or blousy and feminine, this cropped cardigan trend will take you through the cooler months ahead.

I recently splurged on this cropped cardigan, and I’ve been wearing it non-stop. It’s a beautiful knit I love to wear by its self or layered over tops. I’m wearing this one above on sale for under $40.00.

TROUSERS

If your fall calendar feels busier and you are moving away from loungewear and unstructured waistbands, try the trouser trend for a more polished look instead of reaching for denim. The options are endless yet still effortless. Pants this season are colorful, low rise or high waisted, leather or utility, wide-leg or cropped. Style them with boots, heels, or even your favorite pair of sneakers.

THE PLAID BLAZER

Though temperatures are dropping, it might still be too soon for your parka. Try a laid-back look inspired by men’s wear.  The plaid blazer trend has layering potential and adds a chic finishing touch to nearly any outfit. Wear it over a tank or turtleneck and pair it with a wide-leg trouser. I just grabbed this one, and I am almost ready to splurge on this one.

THE CABLE-KNIT SWEATER

It wouldn’t be a fall without a cozy chic cable-knit sweater, right? For the record…I’m a big fan of this trend! This is a great piece for all-season layering and one that isn’t going out of style anytime soon. If you’re in the market for a new chunky sweater to add to your capsule wardrobe, this cable knit is perfectly neutral to wear all season long, and loving this chic striped knit!

 

THE SLEEK KNEE-HIGH BOOT

Although over-the-knee boots were the star of the show for a few seasons, the sleek knee-high boot is now back in favor. Pair them with your favorite shirt dress, denim, or skirt for any occasion because they’re much easier to style than the other boot trends that have come and gone. I’m somewhat obsessed with these chic boots; the croc print always gets me to add to cart! Black boots are linked here and brown here. 

THE QUILTED COAT

Quite possibly one of my favorite trends of them all is the quilted coat – an outerwear piece you won’t want to live without this fall. Similar to the puffer coat (only cozier), the quilted coat will take you so many places in style this season. Don’t know what to wear it with? You’re in luck! There are so many different styles of quilted jackets out there and for every occasion. Definitely grab this one if you can; it sells out regularly. This is a great second choice!
