Choosing neutral colors is one of the easiest ways to elevate your athleisure look. These pants (SZ XS) will take you from a day of errands to a night out. The wide leg flows and flatters as you walk, while the delicate botanical print adds an extra bit of detail.

The comfy cloud tank and shoreline wrap top are two of my favorites from the TravisMathew Women’s collection. Both are made out of an incredible luxe fabric. The Shoreline top can also be worn in reverse, making it a perfect option to have in your closet and when traveling!

I love to pull mine out on days with warmer temperatures. They are lightweight and airy, all while looking amazing! The knit top and moto jacket. I am wearing are in a size extra-small in the jacket and a size zero regular length in the linen pants.

My Favorite Happy Hour Spots in Austin, Texas

Austin is well known for its abundant food scene. We are fortunate to have many restaurants to choose from any night of the week. I have rounded up my favorite happy hour spots that I tend to go back to repeatedly over the 16 years I have lived here. Nothing is better than escaping a busy day and going to a restaurant you love!

In this post, I am rounding up some of my favorite happy hour restaurants and bars in Austin so you can enjoy a ½ priced drink or two and maybe even a full plate of food for a bargain.

Austin Happy Hour Spots

Clark’s Oyster Bar – Maybe my favorite spot in Austin. I routinely make reservations on Friday afternoons here well in advance. My regular order would be oysters (some of the best in town) with a mound of rosemary-infused string fries and an ice-cold wedge salad topped with crab. I love the open kitchen & marble-topped bar. Clark’s is upscale indoor & outdoor dining at its best.

Happy Hour (Mon-Fri from 3-5p. Half-off Burgers & Martinis. 50¢ off Oysters $5 Oyster Shooters).

Howard’s – Howards is right across the street from Clark’s and a perfect spot to continue the night after Clark’s. Highly recommend the ice-cold martinis and classic cocktails. There is a bit of a fun night scene here, although I tend to like it earlier in the day when it’s not so crowded. 

Happy Hour (Mon-Fri from 3-5p. Half-off Drafts & Dogs).

Nido – This restaurant is a new kid on the block. The view of the Austin skyline is breathtaking! Nido is at The Loren Hotel and is a true rooftop oasis. That said, if you visit during the summer heat, you will want to sit inside the ac. If the weather is mild, make a reservation well ahead for an outdoor table with a view. 

Austin Happy Hours

Taco Flats – If my husband and I want no-fuss delicious food with margaritas that are so good, we head to Taco Casual sports bar with a neighborhood vibe. My favorite would be the fish tostadas and ceviche!

Happy Hour, Monday – Friday, 2 pm-6 pm, for some great deals like $1 off tacos, $1 off beers, $2 off wine on tap, and $2 off signature cocktails, or indulge in the $5 queso and guacamole.

Hank’s – Hank’s has a very Instagramable vibe. The large outdoor patio dining is beautiful and dog friendly. Ready for larger parties or easy to cozy up to the bar. Elevated casual dining. 

EVERYDAY HAPPY HOUR · 3–6:30 pm · $1 Off Beer · $7 Frozen Cocktails & Tap Cocktails · $7 Tap Wine · $3 Off Appetizers.

The Wayback Cafe – The Wayback Cafe is about 15-20 minutes from downtown Austin. This boutique hotel also has the cutest little restaurant and bar area on the grounds. They serve classic farm-to-table meals for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. It’s quiet on the grounds with beautiful surroundings and yummy food and cocktails.  

Suerte – Suerte is new to my list. I was so impressed with the cocktails and food that I could not wait to return. On the east side, they are an award-winning modern Mexican restaurant you won’t be disappointed with.

Austin Happy Hours

Perla’s Oyster Bar – A oldie but goodie located right on Congress Ave, this is both a must-go for tourists and locals. I love spending time under the striped umbrellas on the patio with the shade of the massive oak tree keeping the hot sun out. Pearla’s has an elevated laid-back vibe with an open kitchen.

La Piscina – Located on the 5th floor of the Austin Proper Hotel, La Piscina is a poolside restaurant and bar serving Texas-inspired Mexican cuisine. The view from the pool bar outside is beautiful!

Happy Hour specials include $2 off all alcoholic drinks and 25% off specific menu items (varies daily). When: Monday–Friday // Time: 4–6 pm.

North Italian Grill – Visit North Italia in downtown Austin or at the Domain for handmade Italian cuisine. I love the multiple-ingredient fresh salads and cocktails. We cannot visit here without having the meatballs!

Mon-Thur 3 pm-6 pm. Half-off bottles of wine (excludes reserve wine) in the bar. Full Happy Hour Food Menu.

A little bit of sweat and countless outfit changes later, my 2023 Nordstrom Sale Try-On is here!

I am hoping this post will not just save you some time but also allow you to see the items on a real person and also be able to hear my honest thoughts on sizing and quality!

If you’ve been shopping the sale, you’ll know that pieces sell out quickly. Here’s a tip to snag that clothing item you want: If there is a clothing item you’ve got your eye on, but the color and/or size is unavailable, check on Nordstrom’s site early in the morning and in the afternoon. I discovered that Nordstrom will replenish pieces as they become available.

If you’re new to shopping the #Nsale or not sure what the big deal is, I’ve included EVERYTHING you need to know right here.

WHAT IS THE 2023 NORDSTROM ANNIVERSARY SALE?

The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale- commonly referred to as the NSALE- is approximately three weeks of significant discounts on Nordstrom’s best brands (a list below). This is the best sale that Nordstrom has all year. You can expect to see items up to 70% off! This period is the best time to purchase designer goods and high-quality staples or stock up on some of your favorite beauty products!

The 2023 Nordstrom Anniversary Sale dates are Monday, July 17, 2023, through Sunday, August 6, 2023. However, depending on your Nordy Club cardmember level, you can shop the sale as early as Tuesday, July 11, 2023, during the Cardmember Early Access period. Early Access enables Nordy Club cardholders exclusive access to the sale before the sale is open to the general public. You can learn more about Nordy Club and cardholder benefits over at Nordstrom.com. Shopping starts at 3:00 am ET / 12:00 am PT for each day. A sale preview will go live on July 3, but you won’t be able to purchase until your qualifying date below.

Here’s a breakdown of the most important dates and times:

  4. This is the perfect time to think ahead with gifts.
  5. If an item or size is sold out, keep it in your cart. Then if it restocks, you will be notified.

Make an entrance wearing this chic one-piece. This classic black suit has dainty detail with the white bow and will be the best-understated glam at the pool! If you haven’t discovered the gem of Amazon fashion yet, you will love these Amazon Summer Capsule finds. I love a good seasonal capsule for a sustainable wardrobe option.

Double score when you can get it on Amazon Prime! I have rounded up the latest casual style finds from Amazon that you’ll wear repeatedly.

The trick here is to find items you can wear interchangeably to make a ton of new outfits. This will help take the guesswork out of everyday dressing and maybe even save you a little money!

Your Staple Accessories

Amazon is a great place to find affordable accessories! There are many popular brands of jewelry that are under $20, made of good quality, and will not tarnish!

Straw Bag

Some of my favorite straw bags have come from Amazon! A cute straw bag is a summertime staple. They give you a much lighter feel than leather. Straw bags are perfect for sitting by the pool, beach, or just your everyday outfits.

White Tee

A year around staple, especially in the summertime! You can easily dress a white tee up or down, depending on your chosen accessories.

Bodysuit

Bodysuits are another staple to wear in the summer to put together outfits. Some of my favorite outfit combinations with a bodysuit include Bodysuit + Denim Shorts, Bodysuit + Linen Shorts, and a Bodysuit + Denim Skirt. Bodysuits keep things smooth and seamless. You can throw a denim jacket or button-down over the top for the chillier evenings.

Tank Tops

Tank Tops are a great summer must-have! Much like bodysuits, tank tops are effortless to style in the summer. You can dress them up with leather shorts and heels or dress down with athletic shorts and sneakers.

LBD or LWD

The white dress I’m wearing here is from Amazon. I didn’t have high hopes, but it is incredible! I love the quality and the fit of it. Perfect to have in your summer rotation. It’s available in several other colors. I need the black dress now!

Matching Set

Matching sets are trending. I love not having to overthink my outfit when I wear a matching set. Great for those days when you don’t feel like putting much effort into your outfit! The sets below can be dressed down with sandals for a pool/beach day or dressed up with wedges for a fun day out.

PJ Set

One of my favorite ways to elevate my nighttime routine is wearing pajamas that I love. My go-to for pajamas is light and breathable fabrics. I love silk sets that are cooling to the touch.

Gauze Button-Down

Gauze my go-to light fabric for summer. It is lightweight, airy, and can be styled in many ways. Easy to pack because it doesn’t wrinkle much.  I love to wear a gauze button-down as a coverup or with denim shorts!

I love to wear coverups that can double as dresses for those quick times you want to grab a bite to eat or run an errand.

Denim Shorts

An Amazon Summer Capsule staple that I don’t think will ever go out of style! I style mine with t-shirts for a more casual look, bodysuits or tanks for a day out, and blouses for a more elevated look.

Linen Shorts

Linen is of my favorite fabrics for summer. It is so lightweight and breezy it won’t leave you feeling sweaty and sticky. Not sure what to style them with? Swap out your favorite outfit with denim shorts to a pair of linen shorts and give your look a fun summer twist!

Denim Skirt

Just as denim shorts are a timeless staple for summer, so are denim skirts! Denim skirts are incredibly chic and flattering. I like to opt for a longer skirt with a slit. This makes for a classier outfit, but the slit will add the perfect sexy detail!

Your Favorite Summer Shoes

When it comes to shoes, I stick to three main categories in the summertime. Flat sandals, sneakers, and heels! Those three categories will have you covered all summer long. I prefer neutral colors when sticking to a capsule wardrobe for more outfit combinations. For example, I will wear white sandals or sneakers and then black heels to compliment my evening looks.
