It is officially fall now, and one of my favorite things to shop for is outerwear! Coats can complete your fall outfit, and finding the right one just got easier with these three coat trends. Scroll down to see which one is your favorite!

Look 1: Oversized Blazer

The oversized blazer is a modern and fresh take on the timeless blazer! It can be styled with a black top and loose jeans, as I did above, or over a dress for a more sophisticated look. You can also throw your blazer over a minimal outfit and spice it up with a fun handbag. Houndstooth is a trending fabric this fall and looks so chic on a handbag! I linked my favorite houndstooth handbag down below.

 

Look 2: Tweed Jacket

Some may think of tweed as old-fashioned, but it is a timeless wardrobe piece that will fit right into any woman’s wardrobe. It looks great styled with slacks for the office or jeans and a tee for a more relaxed setting. Cropped tweed jackets are perfect if you want to accentuate your waist or grab a longer one to go over a classic black dress.

Look 3: Knit Blazer

Last but not least, the classic knit blazer. This coat is one that everyone should have in their closet. It can be dressed up or down and looks flawless either way. I find myself pairing the knit blazer with neutrals as I did above, but grabbing a blazer with a pop of color is the perfect way to elevate an outfit.

2023 Fall Fashion Trends

We’ve seen it all when it comes to fall fashion trends over the years. If I’ve learned anything being in the fashion business, it’s that trends come and go, and they almost always make a comeback. If you’ve been waiting to see what 2023 fall fashion trends you should watch, this post is full of great fashion predictions for the coming months.

Fall Fashion Trend #1: Red

I typically reserve bright red colors for the holiday season, but I am so excited to see it come in style earlier this year! From crimson tops and jackets to fiery red-colored handbags and shoes, you’re going to want to pull out your red pieces from the back of your closet or grab a new item or two from the list below!

Fall Fashion Trend #2: Suede

Suede is going to be trending in popularity this fall. Suede is actually quite easy to incorporate in small, classic ways that won’t break the bank. It’s as simple as carrying a suede bag, wearing a great pair of suede boots, or adding a suede belt to your outfit.

Fall Fashion Trend #3: Denim

Denim pieces are truly timeless. Some popular ways to wear denim include your go-to jeans, denim skirts, jumpsuits, denim jackets, etc. Personally, I love a good pair of wide-leg denim jeans. These are my favorites!

Fall Fashion Trend #4: Varsity Sweater

The preppy style is on the rise this fall, and one of my favorite pieces for that is a varsity sweater. It is a chic and timeless design. Perfect for throwing on with some trousers to wear to the office or pairing with some denim for a casual fall day.

Fall Fashion Trend #5: Kitten Heels

Classic sling-back kitten heels are so stylish. With a pointed front end to match the thin heel, a low-cut back, and a top that manages to cover the toes, you may fall in love with the shape. You may also adore the fact that these can be worn with casual, professional, or formal ensembles.

Fall Fashion Trend #6: Vest

I’m seeing lots of sweater vests and tanks coming out right now, and this is one of my favorite 2023 fall fashion trends. In fact, I’ve already added a couple to my closet.

This is a nice wear now-and-later piece because they’re short-sleeved or sleeveless, with enough room to layer underneath when the weather cools.

Fall Fashion Trend #7: Sneaker

A good pair of sneakers is a fall staple. As the temperatures start to drop, you might find yourself reaching for your closed-toe shoes. These sneakers are one of my personal favorites. They are vintage-inspired and so comfy!

This is one of my favorite outfits out of Gibsonlook’s new arrivals! The funnel knit top and moto jacket scream fall. Linen pants are amazing to have as a closet staple. I love to pull mine out on days with warmer temperatures. They are lightweight and airy, all while looking amazing! The knit top and moto jacket. I am wearing are in a size extra-small in the jacket and a size zero regular length in the linen pants.

This soft jersey knit blouse is everything and more! It has beautiful details and comes in several color options. It is incredibly comfy and might just be one of my new fall favorites! The blouse fits true to size, I am wearing a size extra-small.

Such a pretty detailed dress! The fabric is soft, flowy, and the perfect baby blue color.  This will be on repeat! Perfect wedding guest or summer event dress! I am wearing an extra-small.

A little bit of sweat and countless outfit changes later, my 2023 Nordstrom Sale Try-On is here!

I am hoping this post will not just save you some time but also allow you to see the items on a real person and also be able to hear my honest thoughts on sizing and quality!

If you’ve been shopping the sale, you’ll know that pieces sell out quickly. Here’s a tip to snag that clothing item you want: If there is a clothing item you’ve got your eye on, but the color and/or size is unavailable, check on Nordstrom’s site early in the morning and in the afternoon. I discovered that Nordstrom will replenish pieces as they become available.

Thinner coats or “coatigans” as the name has been coined are the perfect transitional piece. Along with black heels, I love having a pair of brown heels in my closet. They are so stunning in the fall time. Brown is a neutral color that looks beautiful paired with other neutral, monochromatic, and earthy tones. Black shoes tend to make for a dressed-up look, while the soft look of brown heels gives a more relaxed feel. Try pairing your heels with dark wash jeans and a white sweater for a chic casual look.

Who else loves to live in sweatpants, slippers, and cozy sweatshirts? Hopefully, I am not the only one.

Although I enjoy getting dressed up, I am all about the comfy and cozy lifestyle, especially during fall. There’s nothing better than sipping on a warm drink while snuggling up on the couch and wearing a comfortable outfit. It’s pure bliss!

Since I am all about cozy, here are some pieces to live in this fall!

The quilted jacket will be your live-in, all-fall kinda jacket! Just add a sporty sneaker, and you’re ready to go! My Lululemon sherpa bag goes in and out of stock. What is more timeless than a sweater and leggings? It is a staple outfit that I don’t think will ever go out of style! A perfect way to be cozy while still looking put together. I like to wear a sweater with added detail to dress up the outfit a little more. The crossover sweater above is reversible and very flattering. It is from Lululemon and is such a nice quality piece. I am wearing a size 6 here.

Let’s talk about my must-have Lululemon Align black high-waist leggings. They are buttery soft, and made to last. I wear a size 4 in them. Wear them to work out in or your everyday outfits for the winter months.

What comes to mind when you think of suits for women? Corporate jobs, business lunches, the finance world? If so, you are not alone. The pinstripe suit was once traditionally aimed at men; happily, that is no longer the case!

In fact, suits are having a bit of a trending moment—particularly striped suits. From blazers and pants to jackets and shorts, the traditional suit has never had more alternatives.

As with any trend, tracking down the piece or style in question can get a little overwhelming. If you don’t already have an idea of where to look, you might feel a little stumped. Luckily, Spanx– one of my favorite brands, just released a new pinstripe suit! I am in love with it!

The Perfect Blazer

Spanx’s new pinstripe suit is named “The Perfect Blazer,” and it truly earns that name! It is the classic pinstripe blazer reinvented. It is machine washable, designed with a 4-way stretch, sleek and stylish, and you can pair it with the newly released pinstriped pants to create endless outfit looks.

I am wearing an XS in the Perfect Blazer. There is no need to size up to get this chic look; stick to TTS. The pinstripe Slim Pants I’m wearing an S which is my usual size for Spanx pants. I have a 25″ waist.

For a more casual take, style your suit with a plain white hoodie and sneakers that don’t make the look feel so buttoned up. This is one of my favorite ways to layer a blazer in the fall season.

Cinch it With a Belt Bag: 

Embrace two of fall’s hottest trends at once by layering a belt bag across your body! One of my new favorites to keep my hands free!

Chic: 

Keep things chic with a beautiful white blouse. Putting white with pinstripes always gives a stunning statement. It is a professional outfit that will make you look amazing at the same time!

Casual Friday? Pair your blazer with jeans and a white tee. It is a great way to elevate your casual look.

Not feeling the blazer? Pair your suit pants with a long sleeve blouse for another professional look. For the Fall/Winter, style them with an oversized sweater. This look is comfortable, feminine, and a bit edgy but still very classic and elegant. Something all the ladies should try when it gets chilly. I love adding a tan knit with these pants, topped with a camel coat.

Simplify Your Accessories:

Keep your suit sleek with streamlined accessories: a clean white top, strappy heels, a simple black belt, and dainty gold jewelry. The belt has the added bonus of cinching in your waist.

The cool air is here, and I am loving it! With fall comes the best fall fashion, and there is just something about cozy athleisurewear. Whether chasing kids around or just wanting to stay cozy, athleisurewear is a great way to feel put together. It is the perfect way to mix style with function.

Add some accessories to make your athleisure outfit appear less like you just got done working out and more like an actual street-chic outfit. I love the quilted tote bag trend or the staple belt bag, but you can even add some jewelry as well. I prefer simple gold jewelry with my casual outfits.

Make leggings more streetwear appropriate by pairing them with longer tops or tying a shirt around your waist.

Skip those running shoes and instead choose a casual sneakers. Neutral sneakers are my personal favorite, and I love that retro sneakers are making a reappearance in this year’s fall trends. New Balance, Nike, and Veja are my go-to brands for amazing neutral sneakers.

For a sporty chic look, try a trendy matching set. It makes any outfit instantly elevated. Throw on a puffer vest to add some extra warmth for the chillier days.

A quick athleisurewear style tip: When pairing a top and a bottom, you want to balance the outfit by combining a loose-fitting top with tight bottoms or vice versa. For instance, I would style my tight black leggings with an oversized crewneck. Another example is pairing joggers with a more form-fitting tank or t-shirt.

Unsurprisingly, two of the best-sellers are the striped sweater and ballet flats. Two items that have so many different style combinations and are trending for this fall season! A faux leather jacket is perfect to have on hand when the days get chillier. The cami above is great to throw under a jacket or wear under a sweater when the days get chilly! The Evereve faux leather cropped pants are one of my go-to fall transitional pieces. I styled it above with an affordable Amazon sweater and a stunning white YSL bag.

The tan loafers are a beautiful fall color and go with almost every outfit. One of the best-selling outfits for this month went viral on Instagram! Everyone loved the Spanx Wide Leg Pants. They are comfy and pair well with blouses and sweaters, making them perfect for the workplace.
