Recently, I’ve been getting creative in the kitchen by experimenting with new recipes, and stumbled upon an adult beverage perfect for the holiday season! Caramel apple cider hot toddy anyone? I knew I had to try it. It’s definitely one of the most festive (and most delicious) drinks I’ve ever made!
Thanks to HEB, I knew exactly where to go to find the best supplies without having to run all over town. They also had a beautiful copper cooking stockpot and measuring cups – both perfect for making this tasty drink. I’m totally convinced I’ll be drinking this a little too much throughout the holiday season because it’s just that tasty. HOW TO MAKE REFRESHING CARAMEL APPLE CIDER HOT TODDY:
- 24 oz HEB Apple Cider
- 10-15 Whole Cloves
- 10-15 Whole Allspice
- 3 cinnamon sticks
- 5-6 apple slices
2 oz of Bourbon or Whiskey per serving
- 2 tsp Caramel Sauce
- 2 Apple slices
- 1 Cinnamon Stick
- Orange peel
- editable flower
In a stock pan, combine apple cider, apple slices, cloves, all-spice, and cinnamon sticks. Heat until just about boiling. Let simmer for 10-15 minutes.
Drizzle the caramel sauce into a large mug.
Pour Whisky into the mug and add in the strained hot apple cider.
Garnish with an apple slice and a cinnamon stick wrapped in orange peel and flower.
