Another year has come and gone, but not without making a lasting mark on the fashion world. This year, we saw significant fashion throwbacks come back into style. Remember when the fanny pack first rose to fame in the 80s and 90s? This year it came back into fashion as the “belt bag.” We also returned the “mom jean” and embraced wide-leg trousers and pants.

This year, I posted and put together hundreds of outfits, but there were a few that stood out. So before we see all that 2023 has in store, I am looking back on all the very best fashion items of 2022 that my followers loved most. Yes, it’s another annual best-of list, but it is ultra-curated with everything people bought and loved! Let’s jump in.

Belt Bag

The infamous fanny pack that recently came back as the “belt bag” this year. I am so glad these are back in style! Nothing feels better than being hands-free while keeping your necessities on you. The fleece edition of these belt bags came out at the beginning of winter 2022 and is a great accessory. They come in and out of stock, so keep an eye out if you’re wanting to snag one!

I cannot believe December is already over! The holiday season always goes so fast. With the new year comes new fashion and trends, and I could not be more excited! Before looking into January fashion, let’s look at the December best sellers. There is everything from Amazon cozy sets to my favorite lip products.

Unsurprisingly, my Amazon set was one of the best sellers this month. When it starts getting cold outside, I am all about cozy loungewear. Another Amazon item from this month is the blazer you can’t go wrong with! Lululemon leggings are another one of my staples year-round. They are the best to wear for errands and working out. Those Nike shoes have been my recent go-to.

A closet must-have for the wintertime is a tall black boot. They can be styled in so many ways, and if you choose the right pair, they will last you for years. Two Evereve best-sellers this month are the puffer vest and pullover. The Evereve pullover is cozy and a neutral you can’t go wrong with it. The puffer vest is another closet essential. Perfect to layer on top of virtually any top. A great way to add some extra warmth to your outfit.

How To Make Cashmere Last A Lifetime

Caring for your cashmere garments can feel like a daunting task. Cashmere is such a fine and delicate material. Taking your items to the dry cleaners might seem to be the easiest way to get them clean. However, this is often not necessary. With a few extra steps and a little more effort, you can care for your cashmere garments at home and help your cashmere to last a lifetime.

How to Wash Cashmere

Washing your cashmere will require some planning in advance. It is recommended only to clean your items after several wears, as this will help preserve the fibers’ quality. For any washing method, use a mild detergent approved for delicate fibers.

If your garment is hand washable, wash it in cold water with a detergent specifically designed to wash wool. Gently squeeze the water through the garment until it runs clear, but do not wring or twist. Squeeze any excess water out of the garment.

Machine washable garments should be washed on a cold water cycle at a temperature no higher than 30 degrees. Use a gentle detergent like you would if you were hand washing.

If You Get A Stain

Remove the clothing as soon as possible to prevent the stain from setting in.

Dab the area with a stain remover or eucalyptus oil, applying a small amount at a time and working inwards to avoid spreading. Make sure to dab the area and not scrub, pull, or use a scrubber on the stain.

How to Dry Cashmere

When drying your cashmere, I recommend staying as far away from the dryer as possible. Cashmere and wool severely shrink when put through a warm dryer. So instead of drying, after washing the garment, carefully squeeze out all excess water until the garment is damp. Place the garment on a dry towel in a dark and dry area or on top of a drying rack. Cashmere will take time to dry, so make sure you allow plenty of time for the garment to dry before needing to wear it.

Tips & Tricks for Making Cashmere Last

Properly caring for your cashmere knitwear will help extend the life of your garments and will help keep their quality and shine for years to come.

PILLING

Pilling is when you notice little fabric balls appearing on the surface of your garment. It is often caused by rubbing during wear.

Some ways to help prevent pilling include:

  • Turn your garments inside out when washing. After your garments have been washed a few times, their fibers will strengthen, which will lessen the pilling.
  • Use a razor to remove excess pilling. Be very careful and use a light hand not to snag the threads. I have this specialized tool I use.

How to Store Cashmere

Knitwear should be folded and stored flat. Storing on a hanger may cause stretching of the garment and cause it to misshape. When packing your knitwear for the summer season, ensure they are freshly washed and dried. Pack your knitwear in an airtight sealed container away from direct sunlight.

If you’re looking to add to your cashmere piece collection, one of my personal favorites is Naked Cashmere. Naked cashmere uses only cruelty-free, fair-trade cashmere, meaning that 100% of their herders’ harvests are purchased, regardless of ups and downs. The cashmere hairs are collected only once a year during molting season via hand-combing, the preferred (and cruelty-free) method!

Some of my favorite items pictured above are the Krissa Turtleneck sweater, Gina Midi Skirt, and the Zia Cashmere set!

The Krissa Turtleneck sweater is cozy and chic and can be styled in many ways. The definition of a timeless piece! The Zia Cashmere set is perfect for a put-together lounge look. A zip-up top and wide-leg bottoms make this the ideal set in or out of the house.

Even though cashmere comes at a higher price tag, with the tips above, it will last you a lifetime.

I know planning outfits can be a pain, so I wanted to share some inspiration on what to wear to a holiday party! Whether it be a Friendsgiving, Christmas Party, New Year’s Eve, or a festive night out! My tips are to play with textures, tones of holiday colors, and never underestimate a touch of sparkle!

One of my go-to’s for parties around the New Year is sequins! It is said that the purpose of wearing something sparkly is to celebrate the bright and exciting possibilities the new year might bring!

There are many ways to style sparkles:

  • Make them the main item by wearing a sequin dress or romper!
  • Pair a sequin tank with jeans.
  • Want to incorporate something small into your outfit? Wear glitter/sequin shoes or a sparkly barrette!

Tone down the sequin dress by pairing it with a white sweater or blazer over top.

With the temperatures dropping, it is time to pull those sweaters out of your closet! I have always loved sweaters; they are so comfy and easily layer.

In this post, I am counting down the top 3 sweaters to get you through this winter season!

Avalon Poncho

This poncho is to die for! Ponchos are one of my favorites because it feels like I am wearing a cozy blanket. This poncho is super soft and has a beautiful flowy silhouette. The contrasting color and stitches at the side add a bit of sophistication, structure, and style. Ponchos are also fabulous for traveling! Nobody likes being cold on an airplane. Layer with a long sleeve underneath, and then you can throw on this poncho when it gets a little chillier!

Style Tip: When wearing something baggier on top, pair it with tighter-fitting pants to give your outfit structure.

Who else loves to live in sweatpants, slippers, and cozy sweatshirts? Hopefully, I am not the only one.

Although I enjoy getting dressed up, I am all about the comfy and cozy lifestyle, especially during fall. There’s nothing better than sipping on a warm drink while snuggling up on the couch and wearing a comfortable outfit. It’s pure bliss!

Since I am all about cozy, here are some pieces to live in this fall!

What is more timeless than a sweater and leggings? It is a staple outfit that I don’t think will ever go out of style! A perfect way to be cozy while still looking put together. I like to wear a sweater with added detail to dress up the outfit a little more. The crossover sweater above is reversible and very flattering. It is from Lululemon and is such a nice quality piece. I am wearing a size 6 here.

Let’s talk about my must-have Lululemon Align black high-waist leggings. They are buttery soft, and made to last. I wear a size 4 in them. Wear them to work out in or your everyday outfits for the winter months.

What comes to mind when you think of suits for women? Corporate jobs, business lunches, the finance world? If so, you are not alone. The pinstripe suit was once traditionally aimed at men; happily, that is no longer the case!

In fact, suits are having a bit of a trending moment—particularly striped suits. From blazers and pants to jackets and shorts, the traditional suit has never had more alternatives.

As with any trend, tracking down the piece or style in question can get a little overwhelming. If you don’t already have an idea of where to look, you might feel a little stumped. Luckily, Spanx– one of my favorite brands, just released a new pinstripe suit! I am in love with it!

The Perfect Blazer

For a more casual take, style your suit with a plain white hoodie and sneakers that don’t make the look feel so buttoned up. This is one of my favorite ways to layer a blazer in the fall season.

Embrace two of fall’s hottest trends at once by layering a belt bag across your body! One of my new favorites to keep my hands free!

Chic: 

Keep things chic with a beautiful white blouse. Putting white with pinstripes always gives a stunning statement. It is a professional outfit that will make you look amazing at the same time!

Casual Friday? Pair your blazer with jeans and a white tee. It is a great way to elevate your casual look.

Not feeling the blazer? Pair your suit pants with a long sleeve blouse for another professional look. For the Fall/Winter, style them with an oversized sweater. This look is comfortable, feminine, and a bit edgy but still very classic and elegant. Something all the ladies should try when it gets chilly. I love adding a tan knit with these pants, topped with a camel coat.

Simplify Your Accessories:

Keep your suit sleek with streamlined accessories: a clean white top, strappy heels, a simple black belt, and dainty gold jewelry. The belt has the added bonus of cinching in your waist.

The cool air is here, and I am loving it! With fall comes the best fall fashion, and there is just something about cozy athleisurewear. Whether chasing kids around or just wanting to stay cozy, athleisurewear is a great way to feel put together. It is the perfect way to mix style with function.

Add some accessories to make your athleisure outfit appear less like you just got done working out and more like an actual street-chic outfit. I love the quilted tote bag trend or the staple belt bag, but you can even add some jewelry as well. I prefer simple gold jewelry with my casual outfits.

Make leggings more streetwear appropriate by pairing them with longer tops or tying a shirt around your waist.

Skip those running shoes and instead choose a casual sneakers. Neutral sneakers are my personal favorite, and I love that retro sneakers are making a reappearance in this year’s fall trends. New Balance, Nike, and Veja are my go-to brands for amazing neutral sneakers.

For a sporty chic look, try a trendy matching set. It makes any outfit instantly elevated. Throw on a puffer vest to add some extra warmth for the chillier days.

A quick athleisurewear style tip: When pairing a top and a bottom, you want to balance the outfit by combining a loose-fitting top with tight bottoms or vice versa. For instance, I would style my tight black leggings with an oversized crewneck. Another example is pairing joggers with a more form-fitting tank or t-shirt.
