Make an entrance wearing this chic one-piece. This classic black suit has the chicest white bow and will be the best-understated glam at the pool! I love that it has waist-defining seams and an asymmetric open back. The chest is lightly lined with sewn-in padding, so you do not have to worry about the pads getting messed up in the wash.

This suit is also available in a long torso. I’m wearing a size 6 regular, and it fits perfectly! I love this fun print the suit also is available in.

This suit is also ideal to double as a bodysuit. Pair it with a skirt or trousers on the bottom to take you from the beach to cocktails!

The Effortless Voile Shirtdress Cover-Up

This shirt dress coverup is light and airy. The gorgeous fabric feels so soft and luxe. The belt is removable, so you can leave it open or button it up and wear it belted as a dress. I would wear this as a light outer layer over shorts or pants at night in addition to poolside during the day.

The Ruffle Oasis

“The Ruffle Oasis” is a classic maillot one-piece that comes in several gorgeous colors and prints, and sizes 2-22! I love the coverage in the front. This suit leaves me feeling very secure and free to move around. How cute is that ruffle detail on the shoulder! I would wear the all-black option as a fun, chic bodysuit.

As with most suits from Summersalt Swimwear, you have waist definition and sewn-in soft cups to feel great in this suit!

5 Tips for Styling Wide-Leg Pants

Have you ever found a wardrobe staple so good you never want to take it off? For me, it’s wide-leg pants. Besides being comfortable, wide-leg pants are a versatile and on-trend fashion statement women of any age can wear. This style is so easy to dress up with heels for a night out or down with sneakers for weekend errands! If you’re looking beyond your leggings and denim for a style change, you have to try the wide-leg pant. Below I’m sharing five style tips on how to wear wide-leg pants effortlessly.

Style tips:

1.) Tuck in your shirt

This small effort will elongate and accentuate your waist in the best way! Wide-leg pants are typically high-waisted, so go for a full or half tuck to bring out the details when in doubt.

2.) Balance the proportions with a slim-fitted top and a cropped jacket

As you can see, I’m following this style tip in most looks below because wide-leg pants look so much better with a slim-fitted top and jacket. Not sure which jacket to wear? When in doubt, go with denim!

3.) Heels will dress them up

If you’re heading somewhere a bit fancier, pair your wide-leg pants with your favorite heels to dress them up! One of my favorite things about wide-leg pants is that they are versatile and will take you flawlessly to any occasion.

4.) Sneakers should be on the chunky side

Since wide-leg pants are a bit flowier and on the longer side, wear a platform sneaker or something slightly chunkier than your average shoe. This will elongate your legs and make you look thinner; it will also allow your sneakers to be seen!

5.) Wear cropped pants with open-toe shoes

Since wide-leg pants can be a bit longer, grab a pair of cropped wide-leg pants to wear with open-toe shoes like sandals in the spring and summer!

9 Classic Pieces That Are Worth A Splurge

When it comes to shopping, I’m all about searching for good deals and sales; however, there are a few wardrobe staples I’m willing to splurge on. Why? I’m a true believer in quality over quantity. When I’m looking for classic and versatile styles, high quality is worth the investment. Plus, I don’t know about you, but when I find an investment piece I love… it’s a guarantee I’ll wear it over and over. Nothing beats a splurge piece that will last for years to come! In this post, I’m sharing 9 classic pieces that are worth a splurge, so keep scrolling to see some of my favorite timeless wardrobe staples.

1. White Button-Down or White Tee

Every classy woman needs a white button-down or plain white tee (or both!). There is a reason this is number 1 on my list. You can wear a button-down pretty much anywhere – to the beach, to work, date night, weekend errands… you name it. If you’re able to invest in a quality piece, I highly suggest The Great t-shirts, also Rag & Bone and Frank & Eileen. My favorite budget-friendly brands are Madewell, Everlane, and The Perfect Tee.

2. Black Blazer

One of the most sophisticated basics a woman can wear is a black blazer. A functional blazer will become one of your favorite investment pieces in no time! Wear it to work or out on date night.

3. Classic Heels

A chic pair of heels is without question a worthy investment piece. Whether they’re black,  nude, or white, finding a neutral pair that goes with everything is what I recommend. Heels are known for automatically dressing up an outfit and are usually the first place my money is spent:)

5. Great Pai  of Jeans

The perfect jeans can be so tricky to find these days, but once you find the ones you love, you can wear them over and over again. Investing in 1-2 good pairs of jeans will make your life so easy! My favorites are Everlane, AGolde, and Abercrombie.

6. Quality Neutral Sandals

Just like a classic pair of heels, every woman should own at least one pair of quality neutral sandals. With quality comes comfort and longevity. I’ve owned some designer sandals for over five years, so the cost per wear is working for me! For spring and summer especially, a sandal splurge is worth it!

7. The Perfect Clutch

Investing in the perfect clutch that will add a chic vibe and interest to your outfit. Clutches are low-maintenance and can easily be dressed up or down.

8. Statement Necklace

A statement necklace such as a gold chain or a layered neck stack can elevate any look in a matter of seconds. I love the bold pearl necklaces that are trending right now! Keep your other jewelry minimal, and let the necklace be the star.

9. Leopard Jacket

Last but not least, a leopard jacket. I love this neutral print that is a forever classic! A leopard layer will add interest and elevate even a simple white t-shirt and jeans!

Fall 2021……while many things are still TBD, we are all striving to find a sense of normalcy and joy. Subtle hints of positivity are found threading throughout the season’s styles as designers flood the runways with happy and bright colors. THE SWEATER VEST

The sweater vest is back with a bang this season, and I’m not mad about it! Perfect to layer under blazers or wear alone, this is one of the most fun trends this fall and fits almost every aesthetic in your wardrobe. Today’s style is cropped and colorful or oversized and layered. Neutral is always a good idea, too! Style it with anything from biker shorts to pleated skirts. The versatility of this staple piece will have you reaching for it again and again.

THE CROPPED BUTTON-UP CARDIGAN

Cropped button-up cardigans can be found in many different shapes and silhouettes, making this trendy piece your go-to layer. The easy fit can be dressed down over a graphic tee for a casual date night or dressed up with a cashmere set for a holiday. Whether you choose chunky and cozy or blousy and feminine, this cropped cardigan trend will take you through the cooler months ahead.

I recently splurged on this cropped cardigan, and I’ve been wearing it non-stop. It’s a beautiful knit I love to wear by its self or layered over tops. I’m wearing this one above on sale for under $40.00.

TROUSERS

If your fall calendar feels busier and you are moving away from loungewear and unstructured waistbands, try the trouser trend for a more polished look instead of reaching for denim. The options are endless yet still effortless. Pants this season are colorful, low rise or high waisted, leather or utility, wide-leg or cropped. Style them with boots, heels, or even your favorite pair of sneakers.

THE PLAID BLAZER

Though temperatures are dropping, it might still be too soon for your parka. Try a laid-back look inspired by men’s wear.  The plaid blazer trend has layering potential and adds a chic finishing touch to nearly any outfit. Wear it over a tank or turtleneck and pair it with a wide-leg trouser. I just grabbed this one, and I am almost ready to splurge on this one.

THE CABLE-KNIT SWEATER

It wouldn’t be a fall without a cozy chic cable-knit sweater, right? For the record…I’m a big fan of this trend! This is a great piece for all-season layering and one that isn’t going out of style anytime soon. If you’re in the market for a new chunky sweater to add to your capsule wardrobe, this cable knit is perfectly neutral to wear all season long, and loving this chic striped knit!

 

THE SLEEK KNEE-HIGH BOOT

Although over-the-knee boots were the star of the show for a few seasons, the sleek knee-high boot is now back in favor. Pair them with your favorite shirt dress, denim, or skirt for any occasion because they’re much easier to style than the other boot trends that have come and gone. THE QUILTED COAT

Quite possibly one of my favorite trends of them all is the quilted coat – an outerwear piece you won’t want to live without this fall. Similar to the puffer coat (only cozier), the quilted coat will take you so many places in style this season. Don’t know what to wear it with? You’re in luck! There are so many different styles of quilted jackets out there and for every occasion. Definitely grab this one if you can; it sells out regularly. This is a great second choice!

What To Pack

  1. Midi Dress – A piece that’s super easy to dress up or down and will take you from the beach to dinner. I always make sure to pack a versatile midi dress for any and every beach trip, and this is one of my personal favorites. This is a budget-friendly version.
  2. Satin midi skirt – I love to pair a satin skirt with a fresh white t-shirt, especially at the beach. An effortless wardrobe staple to dress down with sneaks or dress up with heels.
  3. Button-Down Top – The hero piece not to be without on a beach trip! In addition to wearing it as a top, you can use it as a coverup or a light jacket in the evenings. I’m a sucker for a gauze button-down top.
  4. Full Face Pallet – I never travel without my full face pallet – it saves so much space and time since it’s a 5-in-1. I wear lighter amounts of makeup at the beach, so this is a pallet I pack every time.
  5. Sweat short set – This set is my cozy go-to for any summer vacation. Wear them as separates or together! These are great to have on hand when coming back up from the pool or beach or right before bed.
  6. Shoes – I always travel in sneakers because they’re easy to walk around the airport in and perfect for any vacation adventures you may be going on when you get there. All the shoes you pack should definitely be comfortable! I also pack sandals like pool/beach thongs, a no-brainer, and a pair of neutral heels that will match any outfit.
  7. Turkish Towel – I always toss my own towel in my luggage. I love the trendy Turkish towels because they are super thin and easy to pack. Since they’re not bulky, they don’t take up much space!
  8. Tote – A tote bag is a must-have for the beach! I take this personalized tote bag with me everywhere, and this classic tote is on my list. I always make sure the tote I pack is roomy enough for all my beach essentials. Not sure what to pack in your tote? Check out my tote packing checklist here!
  9. Hat – Whether a visor or straw hat, your skin will thank you. Did you know there’s an easy trick on how to pack a straw hat? Just turn it upside down, and put it close to your rolled-up clothes, so the brim does not get wrinkled, and pack the inside with small soft items. If you have two hats, place one over the other. You can see more packing hacks in this post.
  10. Battery pack – I never leave for a trip without one of these… Do yourself a huge favor and grab one of these because if you don’t need it for your portable speaker or phone, someone is guaranteed to!
  11. Small clutch – A cute zippered bag like this one is perfect to use in your beach bag and will double as a night-out clutch. I love how easy these are to pack… they take up no room in your suitcase, which is a plus!
  12. Face Sunscreen – Aside from body sunscreen, you will need facial sunscreen to protect your skin from all the extra sun you will be getting. If you don’t have a favorite face sunscreen, I highly recommend this clean product!  I also love this and this mineral sunscreen that leaves a sheer finish!
  13. Eye Mask/Ear Plugs – If you are a light sleeper like I am, these items are game-changers when trying to get a good night’s sleep. An eye mask and a pair of earplugs always help me fall right asleep, even on vacation!
  14. Bright or Shell accessories – Instantly will give you beach vacation vibes to even your neutral pieces.

How To Choose The Best Moto Jacket

The chillier weather has finally made its way in, and I’ve been loving a good leather jacket for this time of year. You can see my favorite one here on my Instagram. I’m fully convinced a moto jacket is an essential staple every woman needs because they’re versatile, chic, and easy to style in the fall and winter. You’re guaranteed to wear it for years to come because it’s a classic piece that never goes out of style.

Below I’m sharing 5 tips on how to choose the best moto jacket for you!

1. How Much Should I Pay For A Leather Jacket?
The good news is, you’ve got lots of options! Vegan leathers have come along way. My advice to you? Pay what is personally comfortable for you and within your budget. This is not a one-season purchase. It will be in your wardrobe for years. It’s an investment, and you want to love it. Also, buying second hand is an excellent option to explore these days, too! 2. Picking The Right COLOR

As with most pieces hanging in your wardrobe, if you want to get the most wear out of a leather jacket, it pays to go for a neutral color over trendy colors you’ll only wear for one season. You won’t go wrong with a classic black moto jacket because of its versatility – it will go with basically anything you wear. However, any neutral will be your best option, and I highly suggest picking a color you know you’ll wear for years to come.

3. Faux Vs. Real

Something to keep in mind when choosing the material: light vegan options for warm climates and real leather for cold weather. There’s really no wrong answer, though, and it truly comes down to how much you want to spend. If you want to make this a true investment and go for the real leather, nothing beats that fragrant smell or luxe look and fit.

4. The Fit

Personally, I appreciate the ability to wear a jacket over my shoulders as a layering option. Choose a classic length and try to avoid ones that are too cropped. Also, don’t invest in a piece that’s too tight because it does no good if you’re uncomfortable! If you love an oversized style, go for that!

5. The Style

The more clean and classic a moto jacket is, the more wear you’ll get out of it. I don’t recommend investing in a moto jacket with too many crazy zippers or buckles. If you want a bottom belt like this one, keep it as simple as possible. The simpler it is, the more versatile it is as well.
