5 Tips for Styling Wide-Leg Pants

Have you ever found a wardrobe staple so good you never want to take it off? For me, it’s wide-leg pants. Besides being comfortable, wide-leg pants are a versatile and on-trend fashion statement women of any age can wear. This style is so easy to dress up with heels for a night out or down with sneakers for weekend errands! If you’re looking beyond your leggings and denim for a style change, you have to try the wide-leg pant. Below I’m sharing five style tips on how to wear wide-leg pants effortlessly.

Are you looking for more trends this spring? Check out my recent post here, styling a bright orange dress for the season.

Style tips:

1.) Tuck in your shirt

This small effort will elongate and accentuate your waist in the best way! Wide-leg pants are typically high-waisted, so go for a full or half tuck to bring out the details when in doubt.

2.) Balance the proportions with a slim-fitted top and a cropped jacket

As you can see, I’m following this style tip in most looks below because wide-leg pants look so much better with a slim-fitted top and jacket. Not sure which jacket to wear? When in doubt, go with denim!

3.) Heels will dress them up

If you’re heading somewhere a bit fancier, pair your wide-leg pants with your favorite heels to dress them up! One of my favorite things about wide-leg pants is that they are versatile and will take you flawlessly to any occasion.

4.) Sneakers should be on the chunky side

Since wide-leg pants are a bit flowier and on the longer side, wear a platform sneaker or something slightly chunkier than your average shoe. This will elongate your legs and make you look thinner; it will also allow your sneakers to be seen!

5.) Wear cropped pants with open-toe shoes

Since wide-leg pants can be a bit longer, grab a pair of cropped wide-leg pants to wear with open-toe shoes like sandals in the spring and summer!

A denim jacket with linen pants is a great daytime look that is laid-back and casual, and it also works for cooler summer evenings or air-conditioned indoor spaces. Pair with sneakers for running errands or swap for wedges for a cute daytime look. I also added this denim vest underneath for a chic denim-on-denim look. Check out this post for all things styling linen pants.

Bright Orange Trending For Spring

I’m a neutral girl at heart, but lately, I’ve been drawn to all the bright orange Spring colors! This Spring/Summer is all about head-to-toe bright colors. From street style to workout wear, you will be on-trend in bright colors, especially the color of the moment, orange!

The bright orange dress I’m wearing here fits amazing and is under $80.00. I love the side cutouts, leaving my stomach covered. Dressing it down for a casual dinner or movie out is easy as adding a denim jacket and swapping out the heels for sneakers.

The heels I’m wearing are a designer dupe I wear constantly. They are legit more comfortable than the real deal and under $50. I have four colors!

Below I have some shopping inspiration for bright orange to incorporate into your spring style! You can dip your toe by adding a bright shoe or go all-in with a complete look of color!

I also did a fun REELd on Instagram, showing this dress in motion!

3 Ways To Stop Hot Flashes

3 Ways To Stop Hot Flashes 2560 1707 Tammy Caciola

3 ways to stop hot flashes

Ladies, let’s face it, hot flashes and night sweats are common and unwanted symptoms when going through menopause. Hot flashes are a common symptom of menopause. There’s nothing worse than feeling your body heat up when you are out shopping, eating with friends, or on a date night! With a sudden rush of heat from your chest to your head, you know it’s coming—a hot flash. Your skin gets red, and you feel like ripping your clothes off! For me, this happens mostly at night, which in turn disturbs my sleep.

Hot flashes occasionally creep up when I’m out and about, too. Did you know that hot flashes last an average of 5 to 10 years while diminishing in severity and frequency? That’s a long time to be uncomfortable and irritable! Below I’m sharing 3 tips to stop hot flashes when you are in a crisis.

1). LIFESTYLE CHANGES

If you’re looking to make small and simple lifestyle changes to help with hot flashes, you can exercise and avoid caffeine, alcohol, and spicy foods. If you can, also try keeping your alcohol to a minimum. I know it’s not what you want to hear, but I notice I have trouble sleeping at night because of hot flashes every time I have wine or a cocktail. Dressing in layers can help bring relief, no matter what time of year. After all, hot flashes show up in every season. In addition to these tangible lifestyle changes, you can practice deep breathing when you feel one coming on. Adding meditation and other stress-relief techniques to your daily routine can also decrease the number of hot flashes you have.

2). RELIEF SPRAY

I’ve recently started using the KINDRA Cool Down Mist, and I am thrilled with how well it works! Not only am I noticing fewer hot flashes during the day and less sweating at night, but I can also tell a difference in how nourished my skin looks and feels. That’s right – this Cool Down Mist doubles as a nourishing face spray. I feel refreshed, hydrated, and cool each time I use it. It’s as simple as it sounds… when I feel that familiar warmth coming on, I spray the mist on my skin, and it calms it right down. The best part is that it’s small and convenient to carry with you wherever you go! I have a couple at home, in my purse, and in my car to use on the go.

3). SUPPLEMENTS

In addition to the cool down mist, I also use KINDRA’s core supplement. These capsules were created for peri/menopause and beyond, so we do not have to do it alone. The Core supplement includes super-antioxidant Pycnogenol that has been clinically studied and shown to support healthy body circulation, mental clarity, and skin suppleness. It has helped with my hot flashes, night sweats, mood swings, and brain fog. I’ve also noticed that my skin feels more nourished since they help with dryness. These supplements also contain Ashwagandha, which helps reduce stress and boost libido. What’s not to love?

If you want to learn more about KINDRA and how it’s helped me in my menopause journey, you can read about KINDRA’s couch conversations here.

Beach To The Street Styling

Beach To The Street Styling 1446 1158 Tammy Caciola

Beach To The Street StylingBeach To The Street Looks

We recently traveled to Costa Rica over Spring break for a family vacation. While I’m not a light packer (usually 2-3 bags), I try to take versatile pieces to wear multiple ways. When it comes to a beach trip, styling outfits from the beach to the street is something I love to do! In other words, pieces I can wear over my bathing suit to go exploring or out to dinner in.

Below I have a REEL serious to let you see more of what I’m talking about! Just TAP THE PICTURE.

Crochet One-Piece

The first look has a chic crochet one-piece with a sheer skirt coverup. This flowy skirt is under $30 and is available in multiple colors. To change it up to a street look, I added a neutral printed blouse and changed out the sandals. I’m carrying the same oversized tote into town because I know I’m going to buy something…lol!

The one-piece has a long torso option, and I suggest getting that if you are on the fence.

Corset Top One-Piece

The next look is probably my favorite option. The black one-piece suit has a corset top and is such a flattering suit! Again, order a long torso if you are unsure. I’m a 34D, and this top fits me well.

I paired it with a straw hat, oversized sunnies, and a large straw bag for the beach.

Take this look to a dinner out with chic pants from The Shore Line. Trust me when I say you need these pants in your rotation. They fit so well and are so easy to style in many ways. I kept the all-black theme for the top, added a cute light blouse, and tied it in the front. I switched my beach bag for a summer bag and added heels for dinner out!

Bikini with Cover-up

If you are looking for a great bikini, I love these sheared bottoms! They have a great fit, and coverage is moderate. I paired it with a different brand top that I have in several colors because I love the fit and style. I wear a Medium. My coverup is under $25, and I wore it constantly over my last trip. Several colors are available, and it looks so cute tied as well.

To change this to a street look, I added denim shorts I love and a cute bright pink terry top. The designer market tote is a new purchase, and It was perfect for carrying around town!

My polarized glasses are a favorite and only $27, Less if you use code Tammy15!

9 Classic Pieces that are Worth a Splurge

9 Classic Pieces that are Worth a Splurge 512 640 Tammy Caciola

9 Classic Pieces That Are Worth A Splurge

When it comes to shopping, I’m all about searching for good deals and sales; however, there are a few wardrobe staples I’m willing to splurge on. Why? I’m a true believer in quality over quantity. When I’m looking for classic and versatile styles, high quality is worth the investment. Plus, I don’t know about you, but when I find an investment piece I love… it’s a guarantee I’ll wear it over and over. Nothing beats a splurge piece that will last for years to come! In this post, I’m sharing 9 classic pieces that are worth a splurge, so keep scrolling to see some of my favorite timeless wardrobe staples.
While you’re feeling inspired to build a wardrobe with high-quality basics, check out this post.

1. White Button-Down or White Tee

Every classy woman needs a white button-down or plain white tee (or both!). There is a reason this is number 1 on my list. You can wear a button-down pretty much anywhere – to the beach, to work, date night, weekend errands… you name it. If you’re able to invest in a quality piece, I highly suggest The Great t-shirts, also Rag & Bone and Frank & Eileen. My favorite budget-friendly brands are Madewell, Everlane, and The Perfect Tee.

2. Black Blazer

One of the most sophisticated basics a woman can wear is a black blazer. A functional blazer will become one of your favorite investment pieces in no time! Wear it to work or out on date night.

3. Classic Heels

A chic pair of heels is without question a worthy investment piece. Whether they’re black,  nude, or white, finding a neutral pair that goes with everything is what I recommend. Heels are known for automatically dressing up an outfit and are usually the first place my money is spent:)

5. Great Pai  of Jeans

The perfect jeans can be so tricky to find these days, but once you find the ones you love, you can wear them over and over again. Investing in 1-2 good pairs of jeans will make your life so easy! My favorites are Everlane, AGolde, and Abercrombie.

6. Quality Neutral Sandals

Just like a classic pair of heels, every woman should own at least one pair of quality neutral sandals. With quality comes comfort and longevity. I’ve owned some designer sandals for over five years, so the cost per wear is working for me! For spring and summer especially, a sandal splurge is worth it!

7. The Perfect Clutch

Investing in the perfect clutch that will add a chic vibe and interest to your outfit. Clutches are low-maintenance and can easily be dressed up or down.

8. Statement Necklace

A statement necklace such as a gold chain or a layered neck stack can elevate any look in a matter of seconds. I love the bold pearl necklaces that are trending right now! Keep your other jewelry minimal, and let the necklace be the star.

9. Leopard Jacket

Last but not least, a leopard jacket. I love this neutral print that is a forever classic! A leopard layer will add interest and elevate even a simple white t-shirt and jeans!

7 Tips To Get Out The Door Faster In The Mornings

Do you ever feel rushed and frustrated in the mornings trying to get out the door? Maybe you think to yourself… “if only I would have prepared last night!” I know I have a better day when my mornings are smooth, and I leave the house with everything I need for the day. However, between kids and appointments to owning a business and meetings, my days were just too busy to even think about the next one. However, lately, I’ve been putting forth more effort to be prepared ahead of time, so leaving the house the following day is a breeze.
Below I’m sharing seven tips that have truly helped me get out the door faster in the mornings!
While you’re feeling inspired to be productive and organized, check out my recent post: HOME ORGANIZATION.

1. Have elevated basics you can mix and match quickly in your closet

I still get stressed about what to wear at a moment’s notice as a fashion blogger. I’ve learned over the years that choosing neutrals that mix and match or a monochrome look is an easy outfit option.
I use these formulas on rotation:
Out the door quickly- Leggings, sweater, boots
Lunch with friends- straight leg jeans t-shirt, plaid blazer, sneakers
Date night – having an LBD ready to go is a must.
Casual dinner out – Off the shoulder top, wide-leg pants, and sandals

2. Keep Your Makeup Simple

I am a makeup lover through and through—all the way from eyeliner to highlighter. However, keeping it simple is the only option when you’re in a hurry.
– My favorite foundation for great coverage is Ilia skincare
– I love a cream blush you can swipe and blend with your finger
-Mascara always!
-Pro tip: line your inside upper waterline with a waterproof liner; it’s worth the time.
-lip oil to make it shine
For a 5-minute makeup routine, check out this reel!

3. Use multi-tasking products

When you only have 10 minutes to get yourself out the door, reaching for one item that will do several things is a big timesaver. Multi-tasking beauty products are everywhere now! Lip/cheek tints, foundations with skincare, and SPF benefits. Hair texturizer that doubles up as a dry shampoo and so many more. Utilize them; they all help drastically.

4. Use the right hair tools

Thank goodness for today’s hair tools, am I right?! Invest in an iron that heats up in under 60 sec. When I’m in a time crunch, I usually focus on the front part of my hair by wrapping those pieces around a curling wand and then run my fingers through them. Adding texture spray takes no time but still looks good. Also, having a quality blow dryer is essential and cuts drying time in half without damaging your hair.

5. Prepare the night before

Preparing the night before is a biggie, and though it doesn’t always happen, if you can prepare what you need the night before, you will be ahead of the game! If you do some simple things like laying out your clothes and shoes, having your handbag ready to go, and placing your keys where they need to be, it’s helpful when you are in a rush.

6. Spruce up your hair

Sometimes, all you need to do to your 2-3 day old styled hair, is add a little bit of heat from the blow dryer, texture spay, and the right hair oil. One of my favorite ways to style my hair is with loose beach curls. I use my tapered barrel curling iron. This iron gives you chic loose curls in no time. You can watch a short video tutorial of how I curl my hair here.

7. Put your hair into a low bun

Were you having a bad hair day, toss it back into an easy low bun. You can see how I do this here – it’s so quick and perfect for casual, busy days!

7 Tips For Self-Care In MidLife

7 Tips For Self-Care In MidLife 2560 1707 Tammy Caciola

A regular nightly routine with Kindra | Her Fashioned Life

7 Tips For Self-Care in MidLife

Between aging, menopause, and a crazy busy schedule, I’ve learned so much about my body over the past several years. One of the most essential things in life is my health and wellness. Self-care is the key to success, and for me, that means achieving more balance in my life and taking time out of my day to do things that relax my mind and body.

The best part of my every day is my nighttime routine. I truly see the positive benefits of engaging in a before-bed routine that helps calm my mental headspace before winding down to sleep. Below I’m sharing my regular nightly routine that has helped improve my quality of sleep tremendously in hopes that it helps you as well. I encourage you to prioritize self-care to reap the benefits in your everyday life!

Over the last couple of years, I’ve been using various KINDRA products and have been so impressed with the difference each of them has made in my menopause journey. From a better overall mood and sleep cycle to decreased hot flashes and increased mental clarity, these products have been invaluable to ease menopause symptoms. I have a discount code for you, TAMMY20, if you want to try KINDRA products for yourself!

regular nightly routine

1. Taking time for yourself.

I don’t know about you, but nothing calms my mind more than a soothing bath before bed. There’s something about closing the door to our daily lives for some peace and quiet and slipping into a peaceful tub of warm water. Trust me; it’s a mental relaxation as well as a body.

2. Dry Brushing

There are many benefits to dry-brushing; if you haven’t started, I highly recommend starting. Before getting into the bath, I use a dry brush to help cellulite and crepe skin. When using this exfoliation method, the bath soaks you’re using will absorb into the skin better.

Kindra Soothe Bath Soak for a better quality of sleep

3. Using a bath soak

Speaking of bath soak – I use the Soothe bath soak by Kindra that is ultra-nourishing and soft on my skin. This soak is unlike any other and specifically formulated to consider the tender skin of women experiencing vaginal discomfort or shifting vaginal pH during midlife.

I add this into my bath before going to sleep since it has sleep-supporting chamomile to help calm the skin and mind. It also contains omega-rich, restorative oat kernel extract for skin healing support and hydration!

4. Scented candles

I also add scented candles for aromatherapy and relaxing crystals to my tub. I’m a big believer in the power of crystal therapy which I will detail a little bit more below.

the power of crystal therapy will add relaxation to your bath time

5. Crystal Bath Therapy

I have loved learning about the benefits of crystal bath therapy. Bathing with crystals is almost like conducting your own spa treatment! Not only does it relax the body physically, but it also soothes the mind and the soul, encouraging an even deeper relaxation.

Bathing with crystals is something I’ve thoroughly enjoyed because it is such a powerful way to absorb the energy of natural stones. Combining three great conductors – water, body, and crystals – will supercharge your overall wellbeing.

The most powerful sleep-enhancing crystals are:

  • Fluorite
  • Green Calcite
  • Rose Quartz

6. Just add flowers

Adding fresh flowers to my bath tray creates an even more pleasant surrounding and aesthetic. Flowers always make me happy! I always try to pick some up when I’m grocery shopping.

Detoxifying lemon water with mint | her fashioned life

7. Detox Water

For me, I love a glass of wine to celebrate or on a date night, but I tend to sleep better when I replace the wine at home with a refreshing drink that also has detox benefits. One of my favorite (and easy) beverages instead of wine is a detox lemon water that does the trick every time!

Lemon water is not only good in the morning and throughout the day, but it also detoxes the liver and provides a great night’s rest. The only ingredients I add to my water are lemon and a little bit of mint, and that’s all it needs! Add an editable daisy if you would like.

Click HERE to see all of my favorite Kindra products that have helped me during menopause, including this SLEEP SUPPLEMENT that has been very helpful with getting a full night’s sleep. You can use the discount code TAMMY20 for 20% off your cart at checkout!

Valentine’s Day Inspiration

Valentine’s Day is right around the corner. Do you have the question of what to wear on your mind? Don’t worry…I’ve got you covered! If you’re headed out for a romantic dinner, you will want to dress to impress your partner. However, if you want to also be on the chic side and not be overly sexy, keep scrolling to see the perfect Valentine’s Day outfit idea and tips for your night out.

Date-Night Styling Tips

  • Pick one body part to be uncovered. However, don’t leave your chest exposed and your legs uncovered by wearing a short dress. The dress I’m wearing here is very short, but the rest of my body is fully covered, so it still looks chic.

Also, note this dress is made shorter by wearing a belt. You can style it with sneakers and no belt for a very day-friendly look.

  • Choose a shiny, sparkly piece to look sexy in. Pair it with a tailored pair of pants and heels for a date-night look! However, you do not have to bare much skin at all to shine and catch their eye, especially with a semi-sheer, sequin top, or a one-shoulder blouse.
  • Try a little leather to give yourself an edgy look. Start with a sexy, satin slip dress and layer a leather moto jacket over it — the perfect way to contrast dress in my book.
  • Girls have been wearing tight sweaters for years to show off their assets without revealing too much. Wear a tight cashmere sweater in a color that flatters you with leather leggings, add gorgeous heels, and you will not disappoint!
  • Give yourself an effectless sexy vibe for Valentine’s Day with a silk button-up top and a leather mini skirt. Lastly, add some gold hoops and necklaces to give a little sparkle to your look!
